Test strips are used in medicine for a wide variety of applications – sometimes in conjunction with a measuring device, and sometimes individually for visual assessment. Particularly well-known are blood glucose test strips, such as the Accu-Chek Aviva test strips, which, when used with a blood glucose meter, enable fast and mobile measurement of blood sugar levels.
Blood glucose meters, such as the Accu-Chek Aviva, are used both at home and in medical practices or care facilities. To check whether a meter is still providing accurate readings, a test measurement is performed using a fresh test strip and the corresponding control solution. If the measured values match those specified by the manufacturer for the control test, the meter is functioning correctly and can continue to be used. Regular test measurements with control solution are recommended to ensure ongoing accuracy.
