Adhesives
In a dental practice, a large number of impressions are taken each day, making it essential that the impression materials do not detach from the tray. Using a tray adhesive improves the adhesion of the impression material to the tray, which is a key factor for achieving accurate impressions. Before use, the impression trays should be coated with a thin layer of the appropriate adhesive. It is important to ensure that the adhesive used is compatible with the impression material to guarantee optimal adhesion.
Adhesives such as adhesive liquid and adhesive spray create a strong and permanent bonding layer and serve as tray adhesives for the respective impression materials. Adhesives are differentiated for all silicone materials (silicone adhesive), alginate materials (alginate adhesive), and polyether materials (polyether adhesive). Adhesives are often available in blue and red colours.
In this category, you will find adhesives with extremely strong adhesion from renowned manufacturers such as Dentsply Sirona.
Dental Silicone Adhesive
For all silicone impression materials, such as A-silicone, the Harvard TraySive tray adhesive in a 10 ml bottle is suitable. The adhesive ensures secure bonding of the silicone impression material to the tray and prevents uncontrolled distortion of the shape during and after the impression. Thanks to the application brush integrated in the lid, the tray adhesive can be applied easily and quickly.
On custom trays made from base plates, Harvard TraySive may not always provide sufficient adhesion. For polyether impression materials, a suitable polyether adhesive must be used.
