Kidney Dishes

Especially autoclavable kidney dishes made of metal are perfectly suitable as instrument trays in the operating theatre or in the treatment room and can be equipped with all instruments necessary for the operation or treatment. In the operating theatre, removed tissue parts are also often placed in stainless steel kidney dishes before they are disposed of according to regulations after surgery.

In the surgery, kidney dishes are often prepared to hold everything the doctor needs, for example, for an injection or for dressing a wound. After treatment, consumables that are no longer needed can be collected in the kidney tray before being disposed of.

Stainless steel kidney dishes and plastic kidney dishes can also be used for wound irrigation and ear irrigation to collect irrigation fluid. Due to the kidney shape, the tray easily adapts to conical parts of the body so that it can be stopped below the ear during ear irrigation for instance, so that the patient does not get wet during irrigation.

Depending on the intended use, kidney dishes are available in different materials. Disposable kidney dishes made of cellulose or cardboard are non-sterile and discarded after use. They offer a high level of hygiene, as there is no risk of contamination due to inadequate cleaning or disinfection. Metal kidney dishes, on the other hand, can be easily cleaned and sterilized after use and are generally autoclavable, making them suitable for more demanding hygienic tasks and use in the operating theatre.

For selected stainless steel kidney dishes, matching lids are also available. Additionally, reusable kidney dishes made of plastic are resistant to disinfectants but cannot always be autoclaved. These dishes should not come into contact with potentially infectious materials but are ideal for preparing and holding medical consumables.
