Medical Clamps for Holding, Clamping & Fixing
Surgical clamps are surgical instruments used for grasping and holding. These forceps are mostly used in the operating theatre, where they are used, for example, to grasp and hold tissue or blood vessels during surgery, as a hemostat and to fasten surgical drapes. Depending on the area of application, shape and nature of the branches, a distinction is made according to function between the artery clamp and the cloth clamp, as well as various clamps with proper names such as the Pean clamp, Kocher clamp and Mosquito clamp.

While anatomical forceps hold the tissue atraumatically, surgical forceps are usually provided with a serration, which enables a particularly secure grip on the tissue, but also traumatises the tissue due to the pointed teeth.
