The veterinary suture Petcryl® PGA is an absorbable, braided multifilament including a cutting 3/8 needle. Its coating ensures smooth passage and minimal tissue reaction. The suture material also offers excellent flexibility, tensile strength, and optimal holding power.

In veterinary medicine, non-absorbable sutures are used not only for closing easily accessible skin wounds but also for securing venous catheters.

This has the advantage that animals are unable, or only with difficulty, to remove the venous access themselves by chewing or rubbing. The suture material must be removed once the wound has sufficiently healed. The timing for suture removal depends on the extent and size of the injury as well as the individual stage of the healing process.
