Pest Control and Insect Protection
Particularly in spring and summer, both pet owners and animals such as dogs and cats are increasingly troubled by parasites – ticks, fleas and other pests such as flies. Those who spend a lot of time outdoors, especially in forests and meadows, are affected far more frequently.
It is not uncommon for an infestation with fleas, ticks or mites to go unnoticed at first, until persistent itching, scaly patches of skin and associated redness or even hair loss appear. Such an infestation is not harmless for dogs or cats and, in most cases, eliminating parasites and insects is a lengthy process. This makes it all the more important to ensure sufficient protection for dogs and cats.
In this category, we offer you a comprehensive range of reliable and long-lasting insect and tick protection for your animals — suitable for dogs, cats, horses and livestock.
Reliable Insect Protection for Humans and Animals
Reliable insect protection for humans and animals
In particular, outdoor cats and dogs that roam through tall grasses during walks frequently come into contact with pests such as mites and fleas, but most commonly ticks. Ticks pose a high risk of Lyme disease as well as other transmissible illnesses such as the TBE virus (tick-borne encephalitis) or internal parasites like worms – both for animals and humans.
In our online shop, you will find natural products for targeted pest protection in the form of sprays and drops. The tick repellent ZeckEx Spot-On by cdVet provides preventive protection against infestation with external parasites such as ticks, mites, fleas and other insects. This natural tick remedy can even be used on young dogs.
The pest protection contains only purely natural ingredients and is generally applied to the fur of dogs and cats, as well as to the skin or clothing of humans. Once applied, the repellent effect of the tick protection spot-on provides dogs and cats with fast and long-lasting protection against parasites. This plant-based tick repellent with natural active ingredients offers an easy and economical application, making it particularly suitable for treating restless dogs and cats.
Pest protection products contain only purely natural ingredients and are generally applied to the coat of dogs and cats, as well as to the skin or clothing of humans. Once applied, the repellent effect of the tick protection spot-on provides dogs and cats with rapid and, above all, long-lasting protection against parasites. This plant-based tick repellent made from natural active ingredients is easy to use, economical in application, and therefore particularly suitable for treating restless dogs and cats.
Dogs with floppy or heavily haired ears frequently tend to develop an ear infection, which is often caused by pests such as mites. The Milbenex Ear Cleaner, made from essential oils, protects and frees dogs’ ears from irritating ear mites. In addition, this insect protection product also supports care and cleaning, and with regular use can even prevent mite infestation in dogs and cats.
Horses and cattle are often more affected by ticks, horseflies, mosquitoes and flies. While mosquitoes and flies are merely bothersome, horseflies are blood-sucking parasites that can transmit dangerous diseases to horses and cows.
To protect large animals such as horses and cattle from annoying flying insects and to offer long-lasting protection against pests, parasites and insects such as horseflies and ticks, we offer various insect protection products that are sprayed onto the animals’ coat. The cit Parasitos Spray-on provides reliable protection on the coat for several days and has the advantage of repelling not only flies and horseflies but also ticks, mites and mosquitoes. Moreover, no withdrawal period is required for milk production or slaughter in horses and cattle.
For those who prefer a more traditional method of protection against horseflies, so-called horsefly traps are available for use in pastures. These horsefly blockers consist of a collection container, a white protective canopy and a black plastic ball. The bothersome insects are attracted to the sun-warmed black ball, which they mistake for a potential host. Once the horsefly realises that it is an unsuitable host, it attempts to fly upwards and is guided by the canopy into the collection container. The TaonX Horsefly Trap ensures a natural reduction of horsefly populations on pastures by up to 95%, providing highly reliable insect protection.
ARDAP Pest Protection Against Parasites and Flies
ARDAP pest control sprays are among the most popular products for tackling all types of pests and insects in the surroundings of dogs, cats and other animals during acute infestations. They provide reliable protection for several weeks against ticks, fleas, mites, flies and other pests, helping to keep animals more relaxed.
The ARDAP Pest Control Spray combats numerous pests and can be used in households, gardens, animal housing and agriculture. ARDAP spray is not only appreciated for its ease of use but also for its immediate and long-lasting effect of up to 6 weeks. However, when using ARDAP spray, it is important to ensure that animals, as well as food and feed, are removed from the room and that all windows and doors are kept closed.
Especially in large animal and livestock barns, quick action is essential in the case of heavy infestations with parasites such as fleas and mites to prevent further spread from one animal to another. Products from ARDAP are commonly used for this purpose, as they are considered highly reliable and long-lasting. However, please note that ARDAP ectoparasite and mite control products must not be used in occupied barns.
Since pests do not only infest horses and cows but also lay eggs, larvae and pupae on surfaces, it is important to treat the floors and walls of animal stables as well to prevent reinfestation and further spread. The ARDAP Fogger not only has a lethal effect on flies and other parasites but also combats their eggs, larvae and pupae.
Some products, such as Intermitox by Interhygiene, which also combats hair lice, feather lice, lice and the red poultry mite, can be used in occupied stables when applied correctly.
