Animal Traps for Cats, Dogs and Feral Animals
Animal traps are used to catch or rescue seriously ill wild and domestic animals and are available in various designs. For example, there are traps specifically for dogs and cats, while cat traps can also be used as martens traps. In addition to durability, high priority is given to using a humane live trap to ensure that the captured animal is not frightened, subjected to unnecessary stress, or injured.

How a Live Trap Works
Animal traps, such as dog or cat traps designed for live capture, generally operate on a standard principle to make their use as straightforward as possible.
Live traps are usually cage or wire traps equipped with a trigger mechanism. Using bait, the animal is lured into the trap, which activates the closing mechanism when the animal enters.
Live traps, such as cat traps or marten traps, allow for quick setup and the safe release of animals. In particular, wild animals such as martens and foxes are often caught so that they can be relocated gently and safely.
After positioning the trap, the doors are opened and set so that they are triggered only when the bait platform is entered or touched.
The bait is placed in the trap in such a way that the animal must fully enter the trap to reach the platform, thereby activating the closing mechanism. The foldable box trap from Kerbl, made of galvanized wire mesh, for example, allows for the gentle and injury-free capture of cats, and can also be used as a marten trap.
When the bait platform is touched, the trap mechanism is triggered and the doors close. This happens so quickly that the animal has no chance to escape. To minimise further stress for the captured animal, it should be released from the trap promptly. In addition, this reduces the likelihood of attracting other animals that could potentially transmit diseases.
Cat and Marten Traps for Live Capture
To safely capture aggressive, stray, or feral cats, cat traps in the form of standardised cage traps are used. These allow the live animal to be caught so it can be examined and placed in its new habitat.
Cat and marten traps are large enough to provide the animal with sufficient space while inside the live trap, ensuring it is not overly confined. In addition to cats, martens and foxes can also be humanely captured using spacious traps.
