The self-adhesive fixation bandages with bitter coating have been specially developed for veterinary medicine to prevent animals from chewing and licking the dressing material and the wound beneath. The self-adhesive fixation bandage has been treated with special bitter substances that do not harm the animal.
A further advantage of the self-adhesive fixation bandages is the special material used in their production: it is particularly robust, soft and easy to tear by hand – no scissors are required. Thanks to the good adhesion with this elastic bandage the dressing does not slip so the animal can move almost without restriction after treatment. The elastic cohesive bandages do not pull the fur or become statically charged.
In exceptional cases where the animal starts licking the bandage in spite of the bitter coating, this can trigger increased salivation. This is harmless, however, and will abate after a short time.
